AMENITIES FACILITY
The amenities block was completed in December 2021. We are very grateful for architect Brianna Lewis who donated her expertise to design the facility. Our aim is was to construct a facility that is aesthetic and utilises natural and local materials. The construction process involved local trades and suppliers including Australian Sustainable Timbers and Hannan Build.
The funding for this project has been contributed by the Crown Lands Improvement Fund.
MOUNTAIN BIKING DEVELOPMENT
We are working in partnership with various stakeholders, including Ride Dungog, Dungog Shire Council, Karuah Local Aboriginal Land Council, Crown Lands and the NSW Government to progress mountain biking within the Dungog Common.
The two original purpose-built flow tracks were funded through the Dungog Regional Tourism Committee.
WEED MANAGEMENT
Litoria Ecological Restoration Services and The Dungog Common Landcare Group have been busy removing massive amounts of weeds as part of the Southern and Western Management Projects. The Western Catchment Program was halted at the end of April, with May seeing the commencement of the Southen Southern Boundary project. Funding for the Southern Boundary Project was allocated from the Communities Environment Program with $20,000 invested from the Federal government. Thanks, Ros Runciman for the management of these programs and to all the dedicated Landcare members who join in weed pulling and lantana grabbing.
